$5000 raised for project

19 Dec, 2007 08:23 AM
COLEAMBALLY Town Life has been busy combining projects in order to beautify the town’s water tower.

The battery collection drive was a huge success, with 15 pallets of old batteries donated to make about $5000, which will be put towards the mosaic project.

Special thanks is extended to Kevin Coster, who used his own vehicle and trailer, as well as two days of his own time, to collect batteries.

Thanks go to Jacque Noack for her time spent collecting and Rob Fairweather, of CIA Tyre Service, for letting the committee know of the fundraising idea and allowing the batteries to be stored at his yard.

All the people who kindly donated their old batteries are also thanked for contributing to this great cause.

The mosaic group will have a break over the festive season. The last session will be on Sunday, December 23 at 10am and will recommence on January 8.

If anyone would like to do any mosaic in this time please collect the key from the Murrumbidgee Shire office.
