Being held on the vacant block of land next to Coleambally Central School (corner of Pine Drive and Kingfisher Avenue) on Saturday, June 7, Colcom has teamed up with the Rural Fire Brigade to present live entertainment in the form of local bands, dance groups and professional artists, a controlled bonfire and massive speciality fireworks display.
The evening commences at 5.30pm with The Giggles for the kids, followed by music and dancing from musicians and two segments of songs from popular professional entertainer Tracy Misso.
A spectacular fireworks display from Griff’s Fireworks will take place halfway through the concert and the lighting of the giant bonfire.
There will be hot and cold food, lollies and soft drinks, glow sticks and birthday merchandise for sale, and all hosted by 2RG/Star FM Radio personality Brad George and well-known local man Jason Sharam.
People should rug up and bring chairs, bunny rugs, bean bags etc for an entertaining spectacular evening – all free of charge.
To open the entire celebrations, a family fun night will take
place on Friday June 6 at 5pm at Coleambally’s No.1 oval.
There will be a couple of kids rides, face painting, barbecue, refreshments and kids novelty events, primary age boys and girls egg and spoon race, secondary age groups boys and girls sack race and the running of the “oly Gift, a 100-metre dash for both men and women over the age of 18.
Member for Riverina Kay Hull will be on hand to officially declare the celebration open and cut the birthday cake with well-known resident Laurie Jennings.
At 6.30pm the Coly Rumblers will present evening movies – the first for the kids Cars and the second for all ages Worlds Fastest Indian with a barbecue during the first movie and casseroles-barbecue during the second movie.
