Band on song at Leeton Eisteddfod

08 Sep, 2010 12:50 PM
TWO weeks ago, the Leeton Town Band and the Griffith Concert Band performed in six sections of the 2010 Leeton Eisteddfod, with the Leeton band winning four sections outright and coming equal first in the remaining two.

The Leeton Town Band has a number of connections to the Coleambally community, with Beverly Rose playing the oboe, former local Barry Allen on first clarinet and Roly Zappacosta on trombone.

Conductor Ruth Tait also has local connections with family in the area.

The band is always open to new musicians to come along and have fun making music together.

Rehearsals are held every Wednesday night at 7.30pm at the Leeton Soldiers Club.
