IT was promised all last week and while many areas welcomed heavy downpours, somehow Coleambally missed out yet again.
Black clouds hung around the town throughout last week and very high humidity, coupled with high temperatures, made conditions very uncomfortable.
However, despite the predictions of good rainfall, there was no significant falls around the township.
The Coleambally Irrigation weather station in Yamma did record some rain during the week with 13.8 millimetres recorded.
But the rest of the irrigation area did not see a break to the humidity.
Griffith fared a lot better on the weekend with 22.2mm falling over Saturday and Sunday.
The total rainfall recorded at the CICL depot so far for February is 20.7mm, which half way through the month is actually on par with the long-term average for February, which sits just below 30mm.
With more showers predicted for this week, many locals will be hoping that this time the predictions are right and there is some reprieve from the “tropical” weather being experienced.
