Fun for families as big dry eases

18 Aug, 2010 05:52 PM
NOW is the time for local farmers to start thinking positive and planing for the future without drought.

This is the message that is being brought to the whole community as part of a fun family night to be held at the Tubbo Fire Brigade Shed next Thursday night, August 26.

The night, which is open to whole Coleambally community, will get underway at 6pm and there will be a free barbecue and soft drinks provided.

The special guest speaker on the night is Stockinbingal farmer John Harper, who will speak on the topic “On the Road to Recovery”.

Mr Harper is a highly entertaining speaker and, being a farmer himself, has experienced the stress and pressure of farming and the changes that have come to farming over the last few years.

He also has first-hand experience with mental health issues and depression, having started up the Mate Helping Mate program.

Bookings for the night are essential for catering

purposes.

Please contact Lou Revelant on 6960 1300 or Marg and Keith Burge on 6954 1204 for bookings or further information.
