DO you want to give the
greatest gift of all this Christmas?
Why not become a blood donor and give the gift of life?
The Australian Red Cross Blood Service will be at the Coleambally Community Club on Thursday, December 17 from 9.30am to 12.30pm, providing residents and workers the opportunity to donate blood and save lives this Christmas.
Your blood can help a young mother, a grandfather or a neighbour celebrate another Christmas with their families.
Do something special this festive season and give a very personal gift, which only costs an hour of your time.
Australian Red Cross Blood Service local blood service manager Doreen Stinson said, One-in-three Australians would need blood or blood products during their life.
“We all believe that blood will be there if we need it, but right now the health of the population is riding on a very small percentage of people,” she said.
“Due to recent rain the harvest has been delayed and there are concerns we will not be able to collect the amount of blood needed at this time of the year.
“Many farmers, their families and workers are just too busy to be donating this time round.
“The Coleambally community is a great supporter of the Red Cross Blood Service and we are still hoping to
collect around the 40 donations which we normally receive.”
Whether you’re a regular donor, or have never given blood before, this is your chance to really make a
difference to someone’slife.
Each time you give blood, you help save up to three
lives.
