Hardys hit the road for charity

19 Mar, 2008 09:27 AM
CIA the Intelligence Team will travel from Sydney to Mudgee via Mildura spreading the word about organ donation and kidney health in regional areas.

The rally will be held between August 15 and 23, 2008 and will be Kidney Health’s 20th year.

Entry fees for the rally are raised by entrants through donations or proceeds from fundraising events.

The Coleambally community will have the opportunity to be a part of this adventure by purchasing a Kidney Bean sticker individually or as a family, which will be displayed on the rally car.

The Hardy’s would also like to invite Coleambally businesses to place their company logo on the rally car and to also donate funds if they wish.

“We really want to promote the area, especially irrigation and irrigation industries,” Chris Hardy said.

“The enormous amount of misinformation about irrigation, which is being promoted by uninformed city media groups, needs to be countered somehow. We are very much looking forward to this challenge.”

Both schools will be involved, with the Hardy’s endeavouring to email their progress during the rally.

The rally has raised much-needed funds for research, education, consumer participation and health service programs, in addition to supporting the Kidney Kids program, and raising awareness of kidney disease.
