Kids call for youth centre to be set up

24 Feb, 2010 01:01 PM
ONE of the biggest issues raised during CREATE week in Coleambally last year was that the youth of the town want more services and things to do.

During the week the youth of the town were asked what they most wanted in Coleambally.

Many of the youth believed that if they were not involved in sport or religion there was very little left for them to do locally. From these discussions arose the idea of forming a youth centre in the town.

This would be a place where the youth of the area can gather and socialise after school.

A meeting has been organised to gain support and interest in the idea.

Anyone interested in getting the project up and running is invited to the Masonic Lodge Hall on Thursday, March 4 at 2.30pm.

If you are unable to be at the meeting but still want to be involved please contact Jacque Noack on 6954 4439 or Margaret Fletcher on 6954 4018.
