League legends stop by in Coly

09 Dec, 2009 09:51 AM
TWO legends of sport were in Coleambally on the weekend to enjoy a few yarns and a drink with locals and visitors.

Tommy Raudonikis and Arthur Beetson were at the Coleambally Community Club on Saturday night with 140 locals and visitors to enjoy a night of stories and laughs.

The two league players put on a great night, entertaining the crowd and taking part in an auction of memorabilia from their days playing at the top level of the game.

The Coleambally Community Club is currently struggling financially and was hoping that the night would be a success in terms of getting people to come to the club and support it.

And they weren’t disappointed, with the numbers as well as some of the money raised at the auction being given straight back to the club.

The management of the club is hoping to host more such nights and is urging the community to support it and help get the club back on track.

Next weekend, on Saturday, December 19, the club is hosting the Business House Party and the community is invited to come and enjoy a great event to celebrate the festive season.
