FLOOD waters are heading this way with the State Emergency Services (SES) issuing a minor flood warning for the Murrumbidgee Valley earlier this week.
At Darlington Point the river is expected to reach near minor flood levels next Thursday.
High levels are expected along the system and the Bureau of Meterology has predicted levels at Darlington Point will peak near minor flood level (5.5 metres) on Thursday, September 16.
The SES has advised people living or working along rivers and streams to move stock and equipment to higher ground.
Landowners should note that due to release of water from Burrinjuck Dam for environmental flow purposes, river levels along the Murrumbidgee will stay high for several days following the passing of the peak.
More information is availalbe on the weather and river heights from the Bureau of Meteorology website at www.bom.gov.au, or by telephoning the weather warning service on 1300 659 218.
If you need emergency help due to flooding, contact your nearest volunteer SES Unit by calling 132 500.
The SES is continuing to closely monitor the situation.
The service will keep the community updated with any further developments.
