Australia Day Ambassador Vanessa Crisp was welcomed by large crowds at both Coleambally and Darlington Point Australia Day celebrations where she opened her speech by thanking the original owners of the Australian Land.

Vanessa a talented calligraphic artist, signwriter, ticket writer, teacher and graphic designer has a love for her history and brings this to life in the form of artworks.

Her artwork is based on subjects that she holds dear to her heart that make people stop, take notice and hopefully change people’s perception or prejudices of how they view the world and the people in it.

Both Coleambally and the Darlington Point communities have a large number of people who give up their time to contribute to our communities through volunteer work.

Australia Day is a day to recognise those people and show them the recognition they deserve through Australia Day Awards.

In New South Wales alone our towns are two of 5000 that take part in organised events on this very special day.

Australia Day is a wonderful day to celebrate, focus on our future and show one and all what we love about this great country of ours.
