11 Aug, 2010 12:45 PM
THE total rainfall for July in Coleambally has continued to give hope to farmers of better times.

The total rainfall recorded for the month at the Coleambally Irrigation depot was 43.66mm, well above the long-term average for July, 33.3 mm.

This brings the total rainfall to date this year within the town to 251mm, which is 64 per cent of the long-term average annual rainfall at 395mm.

March still remains the wettest month for 2010, when 78.6mm was recorded at the depot site.

Evaporation figures are also showing promising results, with the total for July being 43.6mm, which is only three quarters of the long-term average evaporation for July.
