SOME of Coleambally Irrigation Cooperative Limited (CICL) and Coleambally Irrigation Mutual Cooperative Limited’s (CIMCL) directors and staff took time out last week to wish Kay Hull well on the eve of her retirement from federal politics.
In their farewell remarks, Trent Gardiner and Peter Sheppard commented on Mrs Hull’s great energy, integrity and her absolute commitment to Coleambally and to the industry on which it depends – irrigated agriculture.
Encouraged by all in attendance, Mrs Hull spoke of the most joyous, painful and funny moments of her political career and gave some insights in to what she plans to do next. No one was surprised to learn that rest didn’t feature high on her list of priorities.
Mrs Hull concluded her remarks by encouraging support for her successor, Michael McCormack.
