Shire honours its sports stars
01 Feb 12 | MANY great sporting achievements were accomplished during 2011. The Coleambally and Darlington Point Australia Day sporting awards went to some highy deserving sportspeople.

25 Jan 12 | IT’S on again – the annual “Australia Day” Coleambally Cricket Club Nomads’ six-a-side tournament. With this being the 10th year running, expectations are high for the annual championship.

25 Jan 12 | Coleambally took on ladder leader Exies 14 in a long-awaited round eight clash. In blistering heat the Nomads won the toss and elected to bat. With the opening partnership of Dave White and Bernie Cullen, the Nomads looked unstoppable with the pair putting on 64 runs until White was dismissed for a well-earned 24.

18 Jan 12 | THE Darlington Point - Coleambally Roosters are looking forward to a successful year of football after having signed up Andrew Herbert as their new first grade captain-coach.
Nomads topple Hanwood
18 Jan 12 | Round 13 saw the Coleambally Nomads take on arch rivals Hanwood at the Hanwood sports oval in what was generally a tight game of cricket. With the Nomads losing the toss, Hanwood elected to bat, sending the Nomads out into the heat to field.
21 Dec 11 | Coleambally Nomads took on Coro in the last game before the mid-season break. With the toss going the Nomads’ way, the local boys elected to bat. Back after many weeks absence, young Sam Casey was looking to make an impact as opener with fellow youngster Cameron McFadyen.
Michelle hones her skills
21 Dec 11 | ON Saturday December 10, Michelle Brain was honoured to be presented with her official black belt in Griffith by Hanshi John Taylor, 9th Dan and Australian Kyokushin Karate Association (AKKA) president.
14 Dec 11 | COLEAMBALLY Swimming Club was held last Friday night with lots of enthusiastic swimmers eager to swim faster than their last effort. Improvers this week in the 50m events were; Blake Mannes with three seconds of both his 50m backstroke and butterfly.
Tennis’ best battle it out
14 Dec 11 | On November 27, two teams came together for the grand final of the Coleambally Tennis Clubs Spring competition. Five teams of eight people played 12 weeks of tennis culminating in the play-off. On the dark and often windy night, Matosevics and Ebdens fought it out to find a champion.
14 Dec 11 | ROUND 10 of the Griffith and district B grade cricket competition saw the Coleambally Nomads take on the Leagues Club, which saw the Nomads in a tight tussle with the in-form Leagues side.
Top award for great golfers
14 Dec 11 | CONGRATULATIONS to Debbie Heath (veterans) and Heather Hogan (senior vet) who were prestigiously awarded the NSW Mabel Mackenzie Brooch for the best scores played on Mabel Mackenzie Brooch Day throughout NSW. Mabel Mackenzie was the first country vice-president of the VWGA of NSW (1956 to 1965).
