A number of local cricketers were recognised for their outstanding efforts at the Griffith and District Cricket Association (GDCA) league 2009-10 season presentation last Friday.
The Exies Coly Nomads were presented with both the B grade minor premiership and premiership trophies and each team member was given a premiership medallion.
This was the second consecutive year the local team
has taken out both trophies.
John Byrne was awarded the player of the grand final trophy, also for the second year in a row.
Guy Kelly won the best bowling average for the B grade league with an average of 2.5.
Two local A grade players –Nathan Jones and Tom Burge – also received premiership medals for being a part of the Exies A grade team which took out the two-day premiership.
One of the biggest honours of the night went to Coleambally cricketer Shane Hutchinson, who was named in the GDCA team of the decade.
Shane, who played with the Nomads for the first time this season, was shocked and honoured by the award which ranks him with the best A grade players in the league for the past ten years.
