Coro batsmen too classy for Nomads

Coleambally Nomads took on Coro in the last game before the mid-season break.

With the toss going the Nomads’ way, the local boys elected to bat.

Back after many weeks absence, young Sam Casey was looking to make an impact as opener with fellow youngster Cameron McFadyen.

While McFadyen got the scoreboard ticking over, partner Casey was gone for a duck after three balls.

Todd Clark and McFadyen then put on a solid 26 befroe McFadyen was gone for 21, starting a middle order collapse.

Andrew Boal, Charlie Wythes, Nick Wood and Clark all went the space of 12 runs, leaving the Nomads at 6-47.

Big hitting Jebb Hutchison and Tom Fuller then got things moving again, putting on a quickfire 14 runs before Hutchison was out for 7, leaving the Nomads on a shaky 7-61.

Andrew Noack joined Fuller and they managed to take the score to 7-83 at the drinks break.

However, Fuller was our for 18 two over later with the score on 8-84.

Chris Noack was then out for a four-ball duck.

Lucky last was Micheal Hodgson, who looked to be in tremendous form, despatching deliveries all over the park.

With A. Noacks power hitting the pair took the score over the 100 mark, until Hodgson was run out for 12, leaving Noack stranded on 28, Nomads all out for 112.

The Nomads failed to find form with the ball and were unable to trouble the batsman.

Coro posted a fair run rate and eventually took the match by five wickets.
