THE Coleambally Nomads wrapped up their cricket year on Saturday night, with a presentation at the Brolga Hotel.
More than 50 people attended and were very well fed, thanks to the spit dinner provided by Tim Strachan and Steve Fattore.
Griffith and District Cricket Association president Peter Davis also attended the event, along with Exies Club secretary Garry Tucker, who both came along to congratulate the club on a successful year.
Major achievements for the Nomads throughout the season were winning the B grade minor premiership and premiership for the second consecutive year, C grade making it through to the preliminary final in its first year in the competition, two local players being part of the Exies A grade premiership team, Andrew Noack playing representative cricket, hosting the six-a-side tournament and winning the Coleambally Australia Day team of the Year award.
The cricket club would like to thank all its sponsors throughout the year – Brolga Hotel, Tim’s Meats, Pumps Pipes and Power, S and K Engineering, D and P Jukes Transport, Coly Roadhouse and Magic’s Bobcat.
The club will once again be hoping to repeat its success in the coming 2010/11 season.
