DAMIAN Mannes will reach a milestone for the Coly Blues this Saturday, when he becomes only the third player to reach 300 first grade games for the club.
He will join the company of 300-gamers and life members of the blues Tony Howe and Barry Mannes.
Damian has been a mainstay of the blues backline for the past 19 seasons since his senior debut, and has seen many players and coaches move throughout the club.
From his maiden game of first grade in the 1989 season, Damian has shown remarkable resilience to injury, and from midway through to the 1992 season only missed about ten senior games due to injury or form.
Damian is a dual premiership player for the club in both 1993 and 2005 seasons and played in the runners-up sides in 1994, 2002 and 2006.
He has been an integral part of the Blues, reaching the final series in 15 of his 19 seasons of senior football.
Damian is also a former best and fairest winner of the Blues in 1994 and has had a number of top five finishes.
He was awarded the best on ground medallion in the inaugural charity match between opposing premiership sides in 2006 and has also represented the former Coreen League on a number of occasions.
“My most memorable games would have to be the 1993 and 2005 grand final wins. I am just so happy to make 300 games for the club I love.
“I really want to thank everyone that has helped me reach this achievement along the way but most of all my kids, Emma and Blake, and my family,” said Damian.
The Coleambally Football Club would like to invite all past players and supporters of the club and all the community members to come and help Damian celebrate this outstanding achievement on Saturday.
The Blues will be taking on Rennie in what will be the first home game in the Hume League and a great opportunity for everyone to cheer their local side in 2008.
There will be a number of presentations made to Damian after the game at the bowling club, along with a smorgasbord tea and movie for the kids.
We are looking forward to seeing a lot of support for one of the area’s quiet achievers and sporting champions.
