Roosters too good

21 May, 2008 11:46 AM
DPC under 16s got off to a good start with a near length-of-the- field try to Matt DeMamiel, who scored between the posts. However, he was unable to convert his own try.

In a see-sawing first half with a lot of dropped balls by both sides ,Lakes scored just before halftime and converted to go to the break leading 6-4.

After the break DPC came out a different team completing its sets and backing it up with good defence which led to a dropped ball by Lakes.

Jarvis Undy took advantage, diving on the ball to score and Zac Smith converted.

Shortly after, on the back of some good forward moves,

Will Brain got over the line for a try to make the score 14-6.

With five minutes to go and following some great work by

the backline Mitchell Wiseman scored out wide to seal the win for the Roosters 18 to 6.

The man-of-the-match award went to Travis Oliver and the players’ player award went to Mitch Wiseman.

Others to play well in a great team effort were Steve Bamblett, Josh Undy and Ben Grace.
