07 Jul, 2010 11:10 AM
JINDERA travelled to Coly on Saturday to take on the Blues on their home turf.

The under 14s got off to a great start, kicking two goals to Jindera’s one in the first quarter.

Jindera then gained the lead back from Coly kicking a goal in the second and third quarter. Coly went into the final quarter a goal down and hoping to cause an upset.

However, it wasn’t meant to be on Saturday, and Jindera kicked the final three goals to win 40 to Coly’s 14.

Goal scorers were Lachlan Scott (1) and James Lyell (1). Best players were Darcy Mader, Regan Alvaro, Charlie Black, Tim Hayes, Matt Paton and Sam Breed.

The under 17s made it back-to-back wins, defeating Jindera 62 to 34.

Coly lead at every quarter and hopefully they can continue this great form in the weeks to come and threaten for a place in the finals.

Best players were Al Burge, Drew Hopwood, Andrew Noack, Cameron McFadyen, Kelvin Shaxson and Corban O’Malley.

Goals went to C McFadyen (2), M Dunbar (1), S Casey (1), J Breed (1), A Burge (1), C O’Malley (1) and A Noack (1).

The reserves were well and truly beaten by Jindera 172 to 13.

Best players were Steve Hardy, Dylan Gilbert, Kevin Mannes, Dylan Gilbert, Rowan Stimson and Michael Rutledge. Goal kickers were Blake Jones (1) and Hayden Heath (1).

With a number of senior players out this week due to injury or illness, first grade fielded a young team and were not disgraced by premiership contender Jindera.

The final score was Jindera 95 to Coly 44.

Best players for Coly were Jack Painting, Rob Lothian, Mitch Barry, Justin Buchanan, Carl Pound and Ryan Bull.

Goals kickers S Pound (3), J Painting (1), D Tuohey (1) and G O’ Connell (1).

Coly now have the week off with a general bye in the Hume League this weekend and will play Osborne at Osborne the following week.
