TWO weeks ago some local golf enthusiasts took part in the Riverina Golf Championships, with both June Shields and Carolyn Martin winning daily events.
June was also a part of the team which won an event, while Carolyn also took out the nearest the pin at Leeton and, together with Marg Naseby, won the ball at the WRDGA.
Elizabeth Martin, of Griffith, was named champion of champions for 2010.
Last Tuesday the ladies played in the monthly medal and stroke round at Coleambally as well as the putting competition.
Winner of the day was Trish Clark on 65 nett and the runner-up was Carolyn Rutledge.
The ball competition winner was Eve Kerr on a countback from Janine Evans and Carolyn Martin on a countback from Grace McCalman.
The putting competition was won by Grace McCalman.
The nine-hole winner was Rosemary Hutchins, who also won the putting for the nine-hole players.
The raffle of the day went to Cath Callaghan.
Coming up for the ladies is the Goolgowi tournament on Sunday, September 12 and the Thurgoona tournament on September 13.
Next Tuesday the ladies will play in round three of the championships for vet and non-vet at Coleambally to be followed by a picnic.
