IN A first for Coleambally golfers, Carolyn Martin earlier this month brought home the Riverina District Sandgreen Championship.
Playing a field of over 100 players from 23 clubs, Mrs Martin was awarded the scratch winner of the event, thus becoming the district champion.
The event was played in Lockhart this year and has been running since 1983.
This was the first time a local golfer has brought the trophy home to Coleambally.
Mrs Martin has come very close to winning once and this year was able to take out the championship and will now proudly hold the trophy for the next twelve months.
