Ladies gather for a great day on course

LAST Tuesday the Coleambally lady golfers hosted their annual open day with nine clubs from across the Riverina taking part.

Teams from Culcairn, Howlong, Narrandera, Griffith, Goolgowi, Leeton, Hay and Finley joined with the Coleambally club to make the day a great success.

The results of the day were:

Division 1 scratch winners: Jenny Fisher and Elizabeth Graham of Griffith – 85 scratch.

Division 1 nett winners: Rosemary Orr and Helen Mathieson of Narrandera – nett 69 1/8.

Nearest the pin: Helen Wastle from Finley

Longest drive: Rosemary Orr of Narrandera.

Division 2 scratch winners: Carolyne Rutledge and Elaine Gorey of Coleambally – scratch 99

Division 2 nett winners: Elvie Jones and Kath Lamont of Leeton 73 1/4

Nearest the pin: Sue Harris of Howlong

Longest drive: Julie Cox of Finley

Teams: Trish Clark and Marg Naseby, of Coleambally, Rosemary Orr and Helen Mathieson of Narrandera 142 1/4

Tree trophy kindly donated by June Shields: Tina Bell 14 trees.

The ladies will be travel to the Holong and Gainmain tournaments today.

Next Tuesday the ladies will play in round two of the local championships which will be followed up by a club meeting.
