LAST Friday night saw the start of the 2010 CIA Cup, with 14 teams lining up to take part in the competition.
Winning teams on the night were GunnaBees, with newcomer Jan Young leading the way, Mail Runners with Brendan Schliebs playing good consistent bowls and Hardy Roaders taking their game easily with Shane Pound as skip.
Prickley Roses also came out on top beating Claytons Dry; sledging being the real winner in this match-up.
Kookaburras won their game beating the Roadhouse Runners who also fielded another new bowler, Ian (Wicky) Taylor, who played very well.
Eggheads, with Lance Harland playing great bowls, beat Gaston Gaggers with Shirley Painting bowling well for the losing team.
The closest game of the night was between Fats Five Skins and Dutchies Diggers coming down to the last end with Fats Five Skins winning 10-9.
Bart Westerlaken was not impressed with the result.
