 Geddes Shield to Wiseman

Geddes Shield to Wiseman

13 Apr, 2010 03:40 PM
SOCIAL bowls continues its good run in Coleambally with another good roll up last Wednesday night.

Les Robinson and Jim Mansell had a narrow win over their more fancied opponents, Eve Kerr and Sharon Sutherland.

New bowlers are always welcome to come along to the social competition and have a go.

Last Friday night the CIA Cup wound up another season and congratulations go to the Prickley Roses who won the competition.

Who said sledgers never win.

Gary Wiseman was awarded the Roy Geddes Shield for the best player of the Cup.

Other winners for Friday night were Jukeboxers, Kookaburras, Dutchies Diggers, Roadhouse Rollers, Hardy Roaders, Mail Runners and Yamma Yakkers, who beat the overall competition winners in the last round.

The chook winners on the night were Dutchies Diggers.

The Pennant competition also continued over the weekend with Coly winning on both Saturday and Sunday.

This win has set up a great last round against Leeton District, to be played on April 24 at Leeton.

Unfortunately for Coly there are also two weddings and a football game on the same day, so the club will be short of players.

If there are any registered players who may be able to help out on the day please contact Marty Dunbar on 6954 8362 as soon as possible.
