COLEAMBALLY Netball Club welcomed Culcairn last weekend in what was a disappointing day out for the club.
Due to the wet weather the Netta and Mods teams did not play. Coach Kim Mannes would like to remind all the girls that Net-Set-Go will be on Friday night from 5pm for the five- to 10-year-olds.
The juniors were ecstatic with their five- goal win. The last quarter was played in heavy rain but even that couldn’t dampen their enthusiasm.
The team and their supporters knew it was a special win on a special day. Standout players were Ellen Lyell and Megan Hayes. Thank you to Molly McFadyen for umpiring.
C grade played one of its better games but was again unable to convert to goals.
Even though they went down by 50 goals, the girls played out the game like they were in with a chance. Their fighting spirit was commendable.
Standout players were Melissa Donnellon and Courtney White. Thank you to Sally McFadyen for umpiring.
B grade had a disappointing game and one it would want to put behind it. Standout players were Charmaine Buchanan and Tara Pound. Thank you to Kylie Mannes for umpiring.
A grade had another close game, going down by seven.
The defence was strong and tight while the shooters were on target and the girls in the centre kept the ball moving forward.
Standout players were Lauren Pound and Caryn Deaton. Thank you to Tara Pound for umpiring.
Next week the club will travel to Walbundrie.
