Nettas take victory with teamwork

09 Jun, 2010 01:13 PM
COLEAMBALLY Netball Club travelled to Walbundrie last weekend and the younger girls were grateful the courts were not as big as the footy oval, so they could see the ball coming in the thick fog.

The Nettas played an outstanding game, winning by three goals.

The girls played fluently all over the court and the award went to Natalia Burgess for her efforts at wing defence and goal keeper, a new position for her.

It was a neat team effort and thank you to Molly McFadyen for umpiring.

The Mods went down by eight goals but they all played well in the very cold conditions.

The award went to Jacinta Burgess for her improved movement around the court.

Thank you to Kate McFadyen for umpiring.

The Friday night sessions of Net-Set-Go have been very well attended and the girls are showing positive signs of improvement with the extra ball work.

The juniors were convincingly beaten but played well and looked to be well matched with their opponents.

The local girls are working well as a team and are looking fit.

The standout players were Lana Evans and Megan Hayes.

Thank you to Kate McFadyen for umpiring.

C grade played a great game although it was outscored.

It looked to be an improved side with better passing and a faster, tidier game.

The standout players were Alicia Hudson and Melissa Donnellon.

Thank you to Paige Evens for umpiring.

B grade was delighted with its one-goal win.

Persistence has paid off as the girls have worked really hard over the past few weeks for this win.

The standout player was Shelayah McMillan and thanks to Megan Posselt for umpiring.

A grade had another tough outing.

The girls are working well together and generally look better than the scoreboard indicates.

The standout players were Caryn Deaton and Lauren Pound.

Thanks to Kim Mannes for umpiring.

Next week is a general bye so the girls get a chance to rest up and be ready for the following week when Coly will host Howlong.
