 No joy for Coly

No joy for Coly

07 Jul, 2010 10:06 AM
THE Coleambally Netball Club welcomed Jindera to a day of sunshine and very strong netball.

Unfortunately, our Nettas missed out on a game but will be eagerly awaiting their next game.

The Mods had a good tussle with their opponents, going down by just four goals.

The girls were evenly matched and showed some great skill. An opposition spectator commented on the fact she believed the Coly team would a great team in the future.

The award this week went to Hannah Buchanan, and thanks goes to Kim Mannes for umpiring.

The juniors were out-classed on the day and although coach Shona Hando tried putting the girls in various positions on the court, they were not able to get into the swing of the game.

Standout players were Ellen Lyell and Chloe Buchanan and thank you to Kim Mannes for umpiring.

There is no training this Thursday for the junior grades.

C grade had a big loss and were not able to stop the opposition from putting a big score on the board. Despite the Coly girls’ efforts, positional changes were to no avail.

Standout players were Melissa Donnellon and Di Kelly.

Thank you to Shona Hando for umpiring.

B grade went down by 12 goals after a full four-quarter battle. The girls showed their determination to win and continue to combine well.

Standout players were Paige Evens and Acacia Mannes. Thank you to Kylie Mannes for umpiring.

A grade also put in a big effort but went down by a considerable margin. The girls made various positional changes, but were not able to match their opposition.

Standout players were Maddie Mannes and Lauren Pound. Thank you to Melissa Brooker for umpiring.

With the school holidays and the general bye next week, the girls will hopefully make time to practice their goal shooting skills, as it seems to be an aspect of the game which is letting the teams down in all grades.
