LOCAL youngsters are once again shining at a regional level, with a number of students representing at athletics carnivals recently.
Josh Boag from Coleambally Central School travelled to Albury last week to compete in the Riverina carnival.
He competed in the high jump competition, equalling his personal best of 1.4 metres. He has now been selected in the Riverina team which will head to the State CHS carnival in Hombush later this term.
Louella Cadorin will also be heading to Homebush after coming second in the 12 years 100 metres, while Dustin Wickey just missed out on selection coming third in javelin.
Local girl Maddie Mannes, who attends Yanco Agricultural College, also competed at the Albury carnival in long jump.
Maddie won the event on the day, jumping her personal best of 4.74m and will also move forward to the State carnival.
Four students from St Peters also progressed in representative sport, competing at the Diocesan carnival held in Albury on Friday. Tiana Cadorin (8 years 100 metres), Jacinda Cadorin (junior girl’s 800 metres), Luke Wilson (senior boy’s shot put) and Matthew Kelly (senior boy’s shot put and discus) all competed at the event.
