New squash courts get the thumbs up

08 Dec, 2009 12:38 PM
SOME very excited squash players got to be the first to play on Coleambally’s newly renovated squash courts recently.

After several years of playing on walls with “pot holes” in them and many attempts by the club to get somebody to come out to do repair work, it was finally able to secure the services of Glynn Bunning and team from Western Australia.

These men are professional squash court builders and were willing, for a price, to fit Coleambally into a recent trip to Melbourne.

All players have agreed that the cost has been worth it, with the walls as good as new and no more stray balls flying off the front wall in every direction but the one aimed for.

Coleambally Squash Club caters for all grades of players. The night competition has all ages, grades and sexes and is family focused, with all requests to committee for travelling purposes considered.

There is also a ladies’ day competition, which is baby and toddler-friendly.

The bonus of playing squash in the summer is that you exercise in the luxury of air-conditioning followed by a hot shower before heading home.
