STUDENTS from years 3 and 4 from Coleambally Central School (CCS) and St Peter’s Primary School travelled to Griffith last week to take part in the Trent Barrett Shield at Jubilee Oval.
The schools joined forces in the league tag to form a united team. The girls played well, coming away with two wins from the three games.
In a local derby, the boys teams from each school met in the finals. This proved to be an exciting game which went down to the wire.
The Central School eventually won 12-8.
Three of the Coleambally students received best player awards on the day.
They were Georgia Hogan and Jake Foster from St Peter’s, and Daniel Connor from CCS.
