Tight tussles order of day

IN Round two of the Coleambally Community Bank Junior Touch Football competition the 5pm games had the Blue Heelers face off against the Greyhounds in a tight tussle – the Greyhounds proving the dominant breed, winning six tries to three.

Matt Kelly managed two tries, while Zach Leach-Deahm, Jack Robb, Thomas Bowditch and Adam Hardy all added one each to the scoreline for the Greyhounds. Jacob Breed was the lone try scorer for the Blue Heelers.

In game two, the mighty Fox Terriers outscored the Boardie Collies seven tries to four.

Lachlan Dunbar was the standout for the Collies, notching up three tries, while Matt Mannes was rewarded for his hard work, adding one try for the Collies.

Foxies were well led by Kayde Shaxon and the try scoring shared around.

Oht Evans chased the Collies around the park getting touches all around.

Try scorers for the Foxies were Shaxon (3), Mitchell Dunbar (2), Evans and Thomas Fattore one each respectively.

At 6pm, the Poodles and the Dalmatians took to the park for some fast-paced running and chasing.

The Dalmatians ended up doing more chasing as the Poodles went on a scoring frenzy, notching up 19 tries to two.

The Dalmatians kept fighting all game with Lucas Brain and Cody Crouch getting one try each to spur their team on.

The Poodles try scorers were Luke Hogan (6), Alex Lawrence and Cameron McFadyen 5 each, Blake Goudie (2) and Hannah Buchanan (1).

In the final game the Labradors and the Kelpies went out to do battle, with the Kelpies getting on top through good team play and ball sharing. Josh Fattore and Bradley Knight put the ball over the line four times each, with Billy Robb adding three, Andrew Noack two, and Tom Young, Blake Mannes and Jacinta Burgess also boosting the score with one try each.

Lachlan Foster and Abbey Young scored one each for the Labradors and Corban O’Malley added two.

Round three of the Coleambally Community Bank Junior Touch Football Competition saw the temperature increase for the eight teams who were ready to do battle.

The Fox Terriers got over the top of the Greyhounds, 10 tries to four. Again the Foxy’s proved that team effort pays off. Try scorers for the Foxy’s were Kayde Shaxon (4), Mitchell Dunbar and Thomas Fattore (2), Tim Hayes and Noah Bellato (1).

Adam Hardy was the lone scorer for the Greyhounds.

In game two, the Labradors tried to outsmart the Border Collies with some dummy pases but the Collies were on their game, scoring nine tries to five.

Matt Mannes, Lachlan Evans and Lachlan Dunbar managed three a piece for the Collies.

Corban O’Malley and Josh Knight got two each and Darcy Mader added one for the Labradors. At 6pm the Blue Heelers faced the Poodles.

Once again the Poodles got the points, nine tries to four. Point scorers for the Poodles were Cameron McFadyen and Luke Hogan 3 each, Alex Lawrence(2) and Shelby Brain(1). Brendan Hardy, Jack Weymouth-Smith, Jacob Breed and Lachlan Kelly all scored one try each for the Blue Heelers.

In the final game, the Kelpies proved speed down the line scores tries, with Andrew Noack notching up four, Josh Fattore (3), Bradley Knight and Blake Mannes one each, taking their total to nine.

Zac Weymouth-Smith was the stand out player for the Dalmatians’ getting five tries and Cody Crouch added another to give them a total of six.
