THE Darlington Point - Coleambally Roosters are looking forward to a successful year of football after having signed up Andrew Herbert as their new first grade captain-coach.
No stranger to the area, Andrew was brought up in Coleambally and was a local junior of the club, representing Group 20 and Riverina at first grade level before moving away and working and playing elsewhere, representing Western Australia and the Northern Territory numerous times.
DPC Junior vice president William Mitchell said the club is excited to have Andrew on board and wish him all the best for the season.
“We have re-signed all players from last year except for Bryan Henderson who is to join the Black and Whites.
“We have recruited Kodie Charles, the 2011 Waratah Tigers first grade coach and are looking at strengthening up in some other key areas before the season kicks off.”
“Jone Wesele will also return, we are just going through the long visa process again at the moment.”
The Roosters have started training on Wednesday and Fridays at 6.30, with every second Wednesday at Coleambally.
