THE Coleambally-Darlington Point (CDP) Roosters under 14s and 7s teams travelled to Hay on Saturday to play in the junior competition grand finals.
The under 14s came up against Griffith Panthers in an even game and were unlucky to be beaten 24-16.
The Roosters were in front 16-14 with just eight minutes to go, but were unable to contain the big Griffith forwards who crossed the line for two late tries.
CDP tryscorers were Trey Eldridge, Kurk Lyons and Blake Carroll.
The team is to be congratulated on its great effort and should be proud of taking out the minor premiership.
The players conducted themselves well on and off the field throughout the year and the CDP junior rugby league community wishes them all the best for the future senior rugby league.
The CDP under 7s had a blinder of a grand final against Hillston.
All players worked as a team, and should be proud of their performance.
In defence, Ryan Jay, Lily McKersie, Sally Evans and Lachlan Fattore kept the opposition from sneaking through, while in attack, Jessica Eldridge, Rhys Fraser and Lachlan Fattore made valuable metres.
