The 2010 junior rugby league season is just around the corner with many local boys already in training for the representative season.
A total of 16 Coleambally Darlington Point (CDP)
junior Roosters in the 12s, 13s and 14s age groups attended a two-day training camp at Yanco on January 23 and 24.
The boys were put through their paces by Australian Rugby League (ARL) and Country Rugby League (CRL) representatives Dean Whymark, Adam Perry (former NRL Bulldogs player) and Ben White, along with Group 20 coaches.
It was a great opportunity for the boys, who learnt a variety of skills and knowledge of the game of rugby league that will benefit them in the years to come.
Warren Weir and the catering staff at YAHS did a great job looking after the boys’ meals and refreshments over the two days, which was greatly appreciated.
Warren is especially thanked for giving up his time in to support the coaching staff and busing the boys around to different venues.
There will be a CDP JRL meeting on Thursday, February 11 at the Brolga Hotel at 7.30 for those interested in coming along to help get organised for the 2010 season.
