YIN was established in 2001 in order to develop and network the next generation of industry and community leaders for the irrigation industry.
YIN is not only open to young irrigators but also young people involved in associated industry such as research, extension, agribusiness, rural finance organisations irrigation suppliers and government departments.
YIN is free to join and while it targets people between 18 and 40 years, activities (including the family fun day) are open to all age groups.
Over the past 11 years, YIN has organised a range of workshops and field trips, including trips to the Murray mouth, tours of Burrinjuck and Blowering Dams, Montoro olive oil plant, BHP steelworks smelter and Grain Corp terminal at Port Kembla, and a tour of the Sydney produce markets.
Workshop topics have included water trading, media skills, bio-diesel production, AQIS and carbon trading.
The family fun day will feature a jumping castle, sand art activities and games to entertain the kids, while the adults attend a facilitated session focusing on the future of YIN and ask what YIN can do for its members.
The day will end with a free barbecue with the winner of the lucky door prize announced.
We ask that you RSVP to Anita at DPI on 6960 1300 by Monday, August 6 at the latest.
