A fine first half from West Wyalong has set up a 22-8 win over the Darlington Point-Coleambally Roosters on Sunday.

The Mallee Men led 20-4 at half-time before both sides took their defence to the next level in the second stanza.
The end score made the win look like a fairly comfortable one but West Wyalong co-coach Mark Wood said it was far from it.
“It wasn’t an overly comfortable win,” Wood said.
“It was just a good, solid game of football.
“We were more disciplined than they were in the end but it was a good defensive effort from both sides.”
The win came after the Mallee Men lost in the final moments of their match against Leeton last week.
Wood was most pleased that his side was able to go on with it after a good start.
“It was a pleasant change to get on top and stay there,” he said. Wood named Sam Basham and Tim Dore as West Wyalong’s best players on the day.
The win sees the Mallee Men close the gap between them and fifth-placed DPC.
