Jemma Goudie is in her first year of a Bachelor of Health Science at La Trobe University in Melbourne. She is finding her course difficult at times as she did not complete any science subjects in year 11 and 12. However, she is now receiving tutoring and going well. When Jemma is home, she works part-time at Tim’s Meats and has begun umpiring twice a week at the university sports centre.
She also hopes to gain employment in the hospitality industry.
Jemma has joined the La Trobe Women’s Football team and also plays netball.
Her course work placement has been the highlight for the year.
Jemma was also a recipient of a Murrumbidgee Shire Council scholarship. She used her grant to purchase a laptop and textbooks.
The Coleambally and Darlington Point Country Education Fund was established to provide assistance to local youth to help them achieve their post high school education.
