Kiley suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s qualifying final win over The Rock-Yerong Creek where he feared his season was over.
While a return to the paddock this year is still unlikely, Kiley received good news from the physiotherapist on Thursday.
Kiley has a lot of bone bruising to his knee and minor tears in ligaments.
“He said it’s a five or six week injury but it’s getting better every day,” Kiley said.
“It’s highly unlikely that I’ll be back this year but if we make the grand final then I’ll be doing everything I can to play.”
The Blues take on East Wagga-Kooringal on Sunday and the loss of Kiley will have them sweating on the likely return of captain Mitch Carroll (quad), veteran midfielder Shane Pound (calf) and the potential long-awaited comeback of Dean Pound (thigh).
