With summer just around the corner, the Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres has announced Sport and Recreation’s Swim and Survive.

“Swim and Survive is based on the Royal Life Saving Society’s national industry standard program and is taught by qualified instructors,” Mr Ayres said.
“Australians love the water and love swimming and the Swim and Survive program teaches vital water safety and swimming skills.
“Swimming is not only fun and great exercise it is also a potentially life-saving skill.
“Kids and parent will notice the results that come from the extra practice of a daily program.”
Swim and Survive is an intensive program with most classes held over eight or nine consecutive week days.
The program is available for infants up to primary school children and cost $50 for infants and preschool classes or $70 for school age classes with sibling discounts available.
