In their first grade game it was a shaky start for Exies and it came down to a determined century from Jamie Winkler that got his side to a respectable total.

After all of the top four batsmen fell for less than 10 it was down to Winkler to come to the crease and restore some order to their innings.

He was able to put on meaningful partnerships with Duane Ashcroft (26) of 37 runs before Ashcroft fell to the bowling of Ken Turner.

That brought Jacob Breed (75) and from their partnership the runs piled on. The pair put on 188 and brought the total to a commanding 6/258 off 40 overs.

Much like the Exies, Yenda were unable to get their top order up to the level needed. Apart from the batting of captain Brett Hazelman (20) and Micheal Angel (16) no other batsman were really able to make an impact on the scoreboard as they were bowled out for 94.

Cameron Harrison was one of the standout bowlers for Exies picking up figures of 4-24 off his six overs.

The second grade game was a different story when Coleambally took on Coro at the Griffith Showgrounds.

Having won the toss and electing to bat they found themselves quickly in a position where it was hard to recover following a top order collapse that made it difficult to post a competitive score.

Cooper Smith (5) and James Lyell (4) got the game going in the right direction before they fell in quick succession to the bowling John Witherspoon (3-1) and  Andrew McIntryre (1-18)

The difficult situation continued until Simon Mackie (24 not out) walked to the crease and tried to add some stability to the batting.

He was unable to keep partners with him however as the batting was left reeling off the back of the consistent bowling of Jamie Bennett who claimed six wickets for the match.

Defending the small total of 55 was always going to be a difficult task for Coly.

The side managed to claim the early wicket of Brett Crooks (8) after he was caught by Sam Breed off the bowling of Andrew McGown (1-26).

That was as good as it got for Coly as Chase Verri (21 not out) and Nicholas Witherspoon (20 not out) got Coro past the required total just before the 10 over mark.

Third Grade: Hanwood vs Coly at Griffith Showground 2 on Saturday, 1pm start
