General Manager Craig Moffitt said residents could expect to see a hive of activity in and around Darlington Point, Coleambally and Jerilderie throughout the year.
“We have plenty of good things earmarked to go ahead this year,” he said.
“A priority for council throughout this year will be some of our roads, which will enable greater access in and around our area.”
Motorist will see the reconstruction of 4.4km of Main Canal Road, work on the busy Conargo Road and the reconstruction of 7kms along the South Coree Road.
Mr Moffitt was also happy to announce some of the big ticket items which are in council’s sights.
“Two of the larger scale projects being considered are the redevelopment of Jerilderie Swimming Pool and an upgrade to the North Jerilderie Sewerage Scheme,” he said.
"We also hope to see the finalisation of our 37-lot subdivision by the end of June.”
Meanwhile bores in Darlington Point and Coleambally will be relined and an upgrade of the Sewer Treatment Plant – Ponds in Darlington Point will also be carried out this year with a flood study to be undertaken in the first six months.
According to Mr Moffitt there was plenty to be done before the election.
“It’s an exciting time for council and our three towns,” he said.
“We have a lot to achieve and it’s certainly going to be challenging, but I’m confident we have the right people to get it done.
“Our new Economic, Tourism and Community Development Manager, Gerrie Carr-Macfie will be spending time in each community getting to know what she has to work with.
“She will be an important resource for information and access to government grants for business start-ups and growth … and maximising our local economic capacity.”
