Argus polled the maximum six votes from the Hawks’ round one win over Coleambally to be the early leader in the award, voted by coaches.
Temora defender Charlie Vallance polled five votes in the Kangaroos’ loss to Marrar to sit second, while North Wagga midfielder Lachie Highfield is third after polling well in the Saints win over Barellan.
Unusually, Temora players dominated the votes against Marrar, despite going down to the Bombers.
