The girls gelled right from the first whistle allowing them to play one of their best games for the season.
Strong defence was provided by Jemma Pound and Lauren Valenta making it hard work for the opposition’s shooters, both girls were awarded with the weekly awards.
The Coly shooters Lauren Pound and Hannah Buchanan moved well around the circle while the centre court players Brianna Clark, Maddie Mannes and Molly Young worked tirelessly throughout the centre court.
The A Reserve side was up against a strong North Wagga side who applied a lot of pressure all over the court.
Kate Jones worked hard all game and was awarded with both the weekly awards.
The B Grade side played one of their best games to date, even though the score didn’t reflect the closeness of the game.
Eleanor Cleary put in a big effort in WD and was awarded as Coly’s best, while Danielle Mannes who fed her fellow shooter effectively throughout the game was voted as player’s player.
The C grade who continue to put in their best effort, were also up against strong Saints side.
Kaylee Ingram continues to show improvement in her game was named as Coly’s best while Tess Mader was rewarded for her consistency and voted as Player’s player.
The Junior Blues travelled to Griffith on Sunday to play Griffith White and returned home with two wins.
The Under 11s proved to be too strong taking the win 26 to 3, the crowd was amazed by the improvement of our youngest members who showed off their developing skills.
Regan Cullen continues to show her strengths over the court took home one of the weekly awards, while Maddie Perkins who always puts in a great effort took home the second award for the day.
There was much excitement when the Under 15s defeated the top of the ladder Griffith white side.
The girls knew it was going to be a tough challenge, with the scores being even at the first break, the girls returned to the court with determination and a desire win.
Combining well all over the court the girls dug deep to take the win 30 to 26.
Laura Mannes continued to play her reliable and effective game in defence and was given the weekly award.
Junior football
The juniors played Griffith White at the Exies oval in windy conditions.
The young Coly boys took on their coaches’ instructions in the second half but the Griffith side were just a little too strong running away with the win in the final quarter.
Hayden Smith and Joe Rossato played great games in the middle, while James Burnett was also one of the best at full back.
The windy conditions made it difficult for the under 13s Coly to score, however Lachlan Vearing broke through and scored his first goal in Under 13s.
James Clarke battled well in the ruck against a much bigger opponent while Nick Graham was a prolific ball winner through the midfield.
Hugh White played his usual consistent game with Izzy Burnett playing with courage showing she’s not afraid to get in and mix it with the bigger boys. Chase Nuetze backed up from the under 11s and put in a big effort in the wing.
The Under 17s boys played a competitive game against North Wagga going down by only two points. Danny Brain and Jonah Foster were rewarded for their effort with the weekly awards while Thomas Scott was given to coaches award.
