It was the Mallee Men who started the game strong with a try inside the opening two minutes with a try to Sterling Ross.
The lead was short lived as the Roosters found their way into the game with a try to Ben Mahon and with Josh Veivers kicking the conversion the visitors took the lead.
The sides traded blows for the remainder of the first half with a try a minute before the halftime interval from Craig Iverach giving the Mallee Men a 16-12 lead at the break.
It was a fast start to the second half with three tries in the opening 10 minutes with Iverach crossing for his second of the day while Mahon also doubled his tally for the day and Daniel Williams crossed for the Roosters.
Back-to-back tries for West Wyalong’s Justin Kerry and Chris Mayberry saw them move out to a six-point lead with just over 20 minutes remaining.
The Roosters refused to lie down with Veivers taking centre stage scoring a try and kicking two conversions to give DPC a sniff at the win with six minutes remaining.
The Mallee Men found away across the line within a minute of Veivers scoring as Mayberry scored his second of the day and with five minutes remaining in the match a conversion tied the game up.
The result means the Roosters are now level with Waratahs for third in the fight for a second chance in the finals.
