The trio has worked like a charm in the two games that Wallis has been back with Harpley (eight), Wallis (seven) and Breust (three) having a big hand in the 24.20 (164) to 2.5 (17) win.

“Those three work extremely well together, they were up and about,” coach Jake Wooden said.

“But our midfield are doing their job and getting it in to them.”

Harpley and Wallis are both into double figures for the games against East Wagga-Kooringal and Coleambally, while centre-half-forward Breust has kicked nine goals in two weeks. 

Importantly, the Kangaroos dodged injuries against a short-staffed Blues who had a handful of players back up from reserve grade.

“It was a hard day for Coly – they were pretty undermanned,” Wooden said.

“Not too much was said about the game afterwards… we’ve put our focus on North Wagga pretty much straight away.”

Wooden was pleased with the way his players continued to build for next Saturday’s qualifying final against the Saints at Maher Oval.

The Kangaroos kicked seven goals to none in the first quarter, and by three-quarter-time were up by 125 points. 

As well as the star forwards, Luke Gerhard had a big game for Temora, along with Rob Grant and Kieran Shea.

Apart from Coleambally’s lengthy long-term injury list, Coleambally coach Michael Griffiths was away and former coach Josh Hamilton didn't play, as he awaits his fate after being cited for a headbutt last week. 

Assistant coach Tom Groves was the Blues’ best, along with Blake Jones and Tom Morton, while youngsters Ryan Mannes, Jack Cullen and Sam Breed all put in.
