DPC’s Jonathan Walker has been selected to play for the Scotland side after a solid season in first grade.
Walker will look to add to his six national caps for his country and will be playing alongside NRL players Peter Wallace, Lachlan Coote and Euan Aitken.
It will be a tough tournament for the Bravehearts who have been grouped with Samoa, New Zealand and Tonga with their first game against Tonga in Cairns on October 29.
After his first season at the club, he has featured in 11 games scoring two tries as part of the Roosters side which finished the regular season in fourth position.
Roosters coach Ryan McGoldrick who also played with Walker during his time in the Super League said it was great recognition for his hard work this season.
“He has been a big part of where we have finished this season,” he said.
“Front row is a crucial position especially in Group 20 and to make the big adjustment from playing in England, it was a great effort.”
After coming out to Australia to rediscover his love for footy McGoldrick hopes Walker can take advantage of the opportunity in front of him.
“Back when I was playing with him [in the Super League] when he was 18 he was the next big thing,” he said.

“He could have been one of the best front rowers in England but unfortunately things went against him, and things took a turn from there.
“He came out here to get out of the country and get back to enjoying footy.
“His reputation still holds a fair bit of recognition but that is probably coming to an end, so hopefully he can take his chance.”
McGoldrick said it was great exposure for the club to be listed alongside some of the bigger teams across the world.
