The latest celebrity to suggest they may try their hand at politics is Big Little Lies actress Shailene Woodley.

Woodley, who campaigned for Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primaries last year, told the New York Times that, during the campaign, she considered running for US congress in "a couple [of] years". And she's still thinking it could be a good option.

"I'm not going to rule it out," she said. "Who knows? Life is big, and I'm young."

Shailene Woodley is known for her activism off-screen. The actress was arrested for trespass in October 2016 while protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year of probation.

In 2010, she and her mother co-founded environmental youth leadership program, All It Takes.

Last year, Woodley joined the board of Our Revolution, an advocacy group that grew out of Sanders' campaign.

Kanye West

After flagging it at the 2015 VMAs, rapper Kanye West flagged his interest in running for president in 2020, and - although he went quiet about it for a while - in a BBC interview earlier this year, he appeared to (in a very Kanye way), say he was still keen.

"When I talk about the idea of being president, I'm not saying I have any political views," West, who supported Clinton's presidential campaign, said. "I don't have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time to somehow make a difference while I'm still alive, I'm all for it."

The Rock

Speaking to GQ magazine in June, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who is a registered Independent and has previously attended both Republican and Democratic conventions, described a 2020 presidential run as a "real possibility".

Although he has not revealed who he voted for in last year's presidential election, The Rock has been critical of Trump's travel ban.
