Summer is just around the corner and the Coly Fire Rural Brigade wants to keep its community safe.

This weekend is the annual Get Ready Weekend. The event aims to help locals develop a fire plan ahead of scorching summer weather.

The local brigade will be showing off their new tanker, putting on activities as well as providing the community with fire safety information.

A smokehouse and a BBQ are also on offer.

The event gives Coleambally residents the chance to develop a free plan and advice from their local volunteer firefighters.
