The first grade side went down in a nail-biting preliminary final against Tullibigeal Lake Cargelligo.
Club President Steve Hogan is pleased with the club’s finish.
“We started the season well, up there with some of the best sides. It was another good season,” he said.
“A few injuries took their toll, but it was what it was. We were still happy with the finish.”
Injuries plagued the club toward the end of the season, but Mr Hogan says that the reserve side were able to fill the gaps.
“We had to rely on some of those reserve grade players. They really stepped up.”
He also commended the work of first grade coach, Ryan McGoldrick.
”He played really well all year and he lead the side well too.”
Nineteen year old Matt Kelly also walked away with Rookie of the Year in the Group 20 competition.
“It was his first year. Matt thoroughly deserved it. He played really well.”
Looking forward to the season ahead, Mr Hogan commends the club culture.
“We’ll win the grand final if we can, but that’s not what it’s all about … We're hoping to build on the result this year and keep injury free.”
